Well, as the title says, I would appreciate a few thoughts on buying a 1998 320i as a first car.
I have my eye on a car, with ~250k Kilometers (155k miles) that has supposedly been well-maintained (engine-wise) and was not used in anything but driving (so no drifting or anything that would strain the car).
It has zero rust, but it has some hail dents instead. The interior looks alright, for a 1998 car and everything looks to be in order.
It doesn't have any dash lights on, I have opened the engine, no leaks and the oil looks to be in the normal color range. I'm by no means an expert in cars, so that's why I came here, to ask for a little help with this car. I know that's it is a Straight 6, Double Vanos, BMW Engine. I know the common faults of the M52TUB20, but that's about it.
Now here comes the reason why I want to buy this exact car:
It's cheap. I can buy it for ~1100-1200 Euros. The reason I can do so is because the guy selling the car is someone who had it as a first car, got old and now has more important things to do. Also, in this price range, in my country the most common cars at this price range are old VW's (and pretty much anything from the VAG group from that era). Not that there's anything wrong with old VW's, but I can't help but be amazed how this BMW has so many more features than most other cars in this price range. Here's a picture of the features the car has: https://imgur.com/a/u2OWGZC
I love the sound of the engine, I love the look of the car and the features, but I'd like to know what more experienced BMW owners can tell me to look out for, and what to expect from the car I want to buy. Thank you all, and have an awesome day!
Also, I'm not afraid of a RWD car as a first car, I'm aware of what I'm getting into during the winter, and I'm not stupid enough to believe that It's a drift car.

Subject: Found it in a parking lot, such a beautiful design!
Hey everyone , Im looking at a very clean and excellently maintained 2011 335is. Its had all major issues covered and even many little electric nuances that most owners wouldnāt bother to fix. The car is at 120k miles which was iffy for me because originally i was looking for <85kmiles. But seeing the maintenance history the only thing id have to worry about would be the turbos which im up for if it gives me the peace of mind for another 100k miles. No rattle from the turbos and holds boost super well. Let me know!

Seriously thinking of buying a used 3 Series for around 25k - 30k. Under 50k miles, 2017 or newer.
What should I look for or watch out for when buying?
