Subject: My car got towed. Anything I need to look out for?
My manual f20 (1 series without xDrive) got towed.
Are there specific parts I need to look at if they took damage?
Are there regulations on how this BMW can be towed? I’m not sure but I think there aren’t any for mine specifically, but xDrive automatic BMWs can only be towed with a flat bed tow truck?
Any other advice on how to inspect a car after it got towed?
Any help is mich appreciated
(Just to clarify, it did not break down. It was towed without my knowledge with the parking brake engaged and in gear)

Subject: How does cruise control actually apply the brakes?
I have a cruise control question that I cant seem to find anywhere else, everyone seems to know "what" it does but now "how" it works.
I have an E90 328i which I hear is the first gen of BMW to have "adaptive cruise control" which not only maintains speed but also applies the brakes when needing to slow down. This is most noticeable when going freeway speeds around 70mph and then quickly adjusting the speed down to like 20 mph when using an offramp. It clearly hits the brakes hard but also very smooth and controllable.
My question is how?? Brakes work off of the hydraulic fluid pressure when pressing the pedal down so how are the brakes applied? Is there a pump that pressurizes the fluid instead? Is it intertwined with the power steering pump somehow? What's the scoop?

Hey guys, so I'm getting a X5 e53 2004 with (235/65 R17) stock tires and I'm wondering what are the best wide tires that I can get without any issues while I'm off-road, I care about looks but I don't want to sacrifice reliability.
Thanks in advance!
