I just saw a 2001 330ci cabriolet that someone is selling for a couple grand. Only problem they’ve told me about is a cracked radiator. Car has, like, 103k on the odometer. From what I can tell the body, soft top, and interior have been kept super clean. I don’t know anything about wrenching on cars, so it would definitely be a job I’d tow right to my mechanic. I’m pretty new to the BMW side of things, as I’ve owned mostly American sports cars. I do have a 2013 X1 which has been a pretty good car to me so far; and I do love the look of this one. I’m really wondering what your guys’ opinion would be on this 330ci. Are there things I should look for? Is it even worth thinking more about?

Im going to start with im not well versed in beemer so bear with me. All I know is what I've heard. The car in question I think is a 340i but I know for sure it's got a V8 and I forgot to ask what year. Rounded body so mid 2000's? I don't know the displacement. I have heard from him and other people and even posts here that these things hate their modules and they're in stupid places. The only thing the dude selling it knows is that the last time it ran, it was in derate(depressed turtle mode), it has an automatic, and the previous owner was dumb as wet box of rocks. I asked for a price and he said he didn't really know what to sell it for but he'll start at $1500. He's trying to get rid of some vehicles so I know for sure I can talk him down but what is reasonable? He abandoned the project when he found an M variant and it has just sat. I'll also be going over the vehicle to check for damage and underbody issues. Brakes, suspension, etc. What else should I be looking for?

Subject: What to do right before buying CPO 340i Gran Turismo Sight Unseen
So as everyone knows this market is bullshit right now and I've been trying to find a new daily driver for over a year now and I've finally settled on a 2018 CPO 340i Gran Turismo in San Francisco. Only problem is that I'm in new york so I will be having the car delivered, it's a one owner Arizona vehicle with a clean Carfax and it's certified so I would think that's enough to drive sight unseen. My question is besides all the DMV paperwork, is there anything I should ask the dealership for before and maybe right after signing? Is there any sort of included service I could get free out of them before delivery? Also anyone from NY with out of state buying experience and any advice I'd really appreciate it
