A couple of months ago a piece of granite about the size of a child’s shoe fell from our wall and rolled into some leaves on my drive. My Wife didn’t see it and drove over the granite block. This punctured a 3mm hole in the carbon fibre on the underside of the I8. This has lead to the I8 having to be WRITTEN OFF entirely. If we want it repaired it has to be shipped to Thorn in the UK where they will have to replace the WHOLE carbon fibre shell, plus the labour of stripping the car and replacing the part. The cost of this would far exceed the value of the I8. Apart from the 3mm puncture the car runs perfectly, you’d never even know the hole was there. C’est la vie, have a great weekend guys.

Subject: BMW’s self-driving motorcycle can recognise turns and brake on its own 🏍️
Hey,
I'm having a weird issue since 1 week ago.
MyBMW app stopped working. I tried the following:
- remove the car from app and add it again
- disable and then re-enable Remote Services using connected drive wesbite
- connect my phone through USB
- reset iDrive (hold 30 seconds the volume button)
Still not working.
The car is BMW F85, 2017/8

I have a 2011 bmw 328i, e93 n52, it has 100k and when it’s at idle it’s real rough. It varies between 800-1200 until it settles and it can settle anywhere between 400-1000 and stay there. I’m going to check the air filter and clean the maf sensor this weekend and see if that helps. Is there anything else to check?
Also there is white smoke coming from the exhaust. It’s most noticeable in cold weather but I know it’s not from starting cold because I could drive it 30 min to work and there is still white exhaust. I’ve heard rumors of a blown head gasket so I’ll also be putting in a head gasket sealer this weekend but I’m not experiencing any other symptons of a bad head gasket such as over heating. Also if it was a bad gasket and it was leaking into the oil, wouldn’t the oil sensor on it be able to tell it’s getting dirty sense it uses that electrical resistance sensor in the oil to let you know when it needs replacement? Could these two issues be related? Thank you!

I'm disappointed that BMW has lost the halo lights. They were one of the best trademarks. And now that the grill has become what it is... What do we do?

Just bought a new z4 a couple months ago and when I first turn on the car and brake. The breaks squeak loudly when i pull out of parking and start driving and it sounds like something is wrong with them. When driving after the car the sound ultimately goes away. I was wondering what that is? Is it because the car isn't warmed up?
I read about sometimes this happens when you have debris and can clear it by braking hard a few times. Tried that, didn't work. I also thought it was because it was starting in sport mode, but that doesn't seem to be the case either
