Subject: Some photos of my e30 touring

Hey all!

Before it gets sold, I wanted to show off my 1988 RHD BMW 325i Touring. This wagon has been nothing but a joy to drive as so many memories have been made in it! As a photographer, I have probably taken over a thousand photos of my touring, but anyways, here are my favorite shots!

Subject: New Beater! '03 E39 525d 289k km!

I finally got my E39 touring registered and got a splash and dash cleaning today (interior detail coming soon.)

Recently, got restationed in Germany, and the second I knew I was going to Germany. This was the car I thought of. Had to be touring, had to be e39, had to be minimum of 2.5, and had to be manual!

The diesel engine has surprised me greatly. Never did I think early 00's diesel tech will allow it to climb the revs like this does. I am tickled to death.

When I get my X5 delivered, this will become my project for spirited driving and enjoying automotive enthusiast type of tinkerings.

Real Ugly So Beautiful!

Subject: Used BMW 5 Series

Hello Friends -

I am planning to buy a used/certified 2017/18/19 BMW % series and was hoping to get some thoughts from the Gearheads/Overachievers here (Owning and maintaining a BMW in my eyes is really an achievement).

I live in North Carolina so hopefully I can skip the xDrive to get a car with less miles but confused regarding the 530i vs 530e. Preliminary research says that 530e is be a bit cheaper as folks would have received federal credit but also a little expensive to maintain as it has 2 motors instead of 1.

Following is a list of questions, I hope I can get more information:

1) Should I avoid a specific Model year? For ex. 2017 as it was a refresh and might have new model issues?

2) General maintenance - How much should I plan - I am prepared for $1k/year (that too is crazy expensive for me coming from Toyota/Infiniti)?

3) Should I pursue cars from Carvana/Vroom or specifically look for Certified cars. Apart from extended warranty, what are the benefits of CPO?

4) I have a budget of $40K, should I break it for 540i?

5) Anything in general a BMW virgin should know.

Subject: Defect trunk, electrical trunk won't open or close anymore. Bmw 520 G31 Early 2018 model

When I press the trunk button on either my key or inside the car, the trunk will neither open or close, it will react with a light but it won't actually open. Anyone have any solutions for this? Otherwise im going to the dealer tomorrow to resolve this problem.
