Anything I should look out for or ask before leaving? Any tips or pointers for keeping it during the cold months? I’m not keeping it stock… sorry. GT haus ftw.

Hello peeps, I will be starting with the details of both vehicles first.

2018 M140i - 35k km (22k miles) - €42k

2018 540i - 70k km (44k miles) - €46k

I know both of these cars are really different themselves but I need outside opinions. I am going to drive approximately 10k a year with either of these.

I am a student in Germany, living 16 hours away from my homeland. Parents offered me to get a used 4-door car here for my convenience. I have decided for a BMW, I worked for them before and noticed how great their car actually feels. I actually considered a M5 before, as parents gave the green light, but after long thought, it wont be too economical for me to drive it long term, not to mention the higher selling price of €80k.

Based on my points, I live alone and I dont need the bigger car but I prefer how the G30 5er looks overall with updated interior (ambient lights, newer iDrive, extended leather etc.). I am leaning more towards the 540i as of currently but I get the feeling that the M140i will be a more fun car overall but I did notice in the M140i the road/tire noise is noticeably higher.

Not to mention the price is a bit higher (I am going to pay cash) and the mileage too. But the 540i has tons more of customisations/optionals on the car, kind of made the car's price justified. Not to mention when my fam comes around, they would really appreciate the 540i's better comfort.

So is the driving feel of the M140i worth sweeping under the rug for a more sophisticated 540i? I would love to hear some opinions.
