I'm looking at an 08 X5 3.0l for my 18 yr old daughter. A combo birthday/graduation gift. I found a really nice one with 135K miles for $9K. Paid a mechanic to run a scan on the car and it threw a few codes. O2 sensor, on board power supply monitor, battery monitor, current monitor, an VANOS inlet. I spoke to the used car lot guy and he pulled the record and said the VANOS was replaced in May. I saw it myself on this computer screen. He said that the vehicle's battery needed to be jumped and activated old "log codes." After my mechanic ran his scan the check engine light came on. Only code the mechanic at the car lot said was the O2 sensor. He says the check engine light will come on a lot on BMWs.
Everything else is in good condition. He also said that the oil lid wasn't screwed on tight and that can cause the check engine light to appear.
Any feedback on this will be greatly appreciated. My daughter wants this car bad. She deserves it and looks great in it, too.

Subject: I live near what I assume is a BMW storage lot, and I saw this really nice New Jersey Devils M4 competition there. They always store M and competition models in the lot, so I may post more photos in the future.

So, I'm currently in the EU and am looking to purchase a classic BMW from Germany and import to the US. I know that the vehicle I will purchase will be more than 25 years old so it will is exempt from EPA and DOT rules.
I have 2 questions:
- What's the preferred website for me to get the best results for searching vehicles within Germany?
- Is there a preferred service provider that can handle the shipping and all other paperwork needed to import the vehicle from Germany to the US?
