Hello everyone, I'm looking to purchase a new fast sports sedan, and have landed on the 2020 BMW M340I. My only concern is the overall reliability, especially after test driving an m340I that had a little white smoke coming from the driver exhaust after the test drive. The m340i I'm considering would have 3 years left on the bumper to bumper warranty so any significant repairs would be covered, right?

-I have a max budget of 60k, and have also considered a tesla model 3 Long Range after becoming concerned about the M340I reliability.

-Also I keep hearing how maintenance cost is crazy for BMW. How much is it for normal stuff such as oil, brakes, and filter changes?

-I really enjoyed the power, and overall package of the m340i not sure if the non noise produce tesla model 3 LR/Perfomance would satisfy my car ethusist itch. Obviously this is a BMW subreddit and there will be bias towards BMW, but I'm looking for open minded opinions!

Hi everyone! I just got my first BMW! It’s a 2015 2 series coupe 220i (F22) with a manual gearbox, M sport steering wheel and gear knob, in Melbourne red. I’ll make sure to post some photos soon!

I have a (probably dumb) question: why does my sport display show range up to 240 horse power and 340 Nm torque while my engine’s (N20B20) real upper limits are lower (184 horse power, 270 Nm)?

Could it be that the previous owner changed the display software? Or even tuned the engine? On that note, how can I determine if the engine has been tuned?

2019 440i Gran Coupe (standard front bumper)
I got pulled over with a warning the other day for not having a front plate. I am looking at some no drill options. I do have PDC, and what I am reading is a lot of the tow hitch mounts interfere with that.

I see the sto n go may be a good option, but the 440i version may require you to drill on the bottom of the car. Does anyone have any photos or experience with this?
