Subject: F02 760li drivetrain malfunction

Hi,

A quick question for some v12 bmw experts out there - I have a 2011 760 with the N74 motor and I am experiencing a very odd drivetrain malfunction, when the motor has been run for a few good hours on the motorway if I do kickdown acceleration she takes off like usual but after going up a couple of gears it coughs and feels like a misfire.

The drivetrain malfunction pops up and she runs rough after much like a misfire and I usually pull over you can then feel it's over or under fueling somewhere (feels like that anyways) but if I turn the motor off and on again everything is fine, right as rain after.

So I'm not sure is this a injector, cam shaft sensor, vanos solenoid, coil pack or some software issue? I would've thought if it was an injector it would do that all the time and not be cured with an on and off which makes me think it's electrical somewhere.

So where would the v12 experts start?

Fyi getting it plugged into a laptop at some point this week hoping the fault is stored historically if that is a thing?

Subject: This is a 118D, SE exterior, M-Sport Interior. I’m thinking of getting the full M-Sport kit (Bumpers, Side Skirt) however unsure due to the large amount of stone chips not sure it’s good to sink so much when the paint work is lacking? What do you think?
