Subject: Save Games in GBA 2 Player Core

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello everyone,

I am wondering if there is a way to import a save file into the GBA 2 Player Core that would allow it to be used by both "systems" running at the same time. Specifically, I was looking to play Megaman Battle Network 6 link battles with a save file that has everything unlocked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Subject: Can you have multiple custom video modes?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I've been messing with custom video modes in the AO486 core one is for 720x400 and the other is for 640x400. I noticed when both entries are present it will stick with 720x400 when entering Doom for example which is 320x200. The only way I can get the 640x400 video mode to work is if its the only entry.

[AO486] video_mode=640,24,96,40,400,9,2,39,25175; 640x400 (Good for 320x200 games) video_mode=720,36,72,108,400,1,3,42,35500; 720x400 (good for text)

Subject: Which games are you enjoying the most on MiSTer?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I've had my MiSTer for a few months now and it's kind of overwhelming to have so many games to explore. Some have aged better than others. I'm curious as to which ones are the stand-out titles that the MiSTer community gravitates toward. My favorite experience so far has been playing through Final Fantasy VI with the Brave New World 1.9.0 mod. Super Mario Kart, F-Zero and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo have been great as well.

Subject: MiSTer USB hub not working

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I ran the update_all script this morning and now my USB hub no longer works. I have a micro USB to USB A cable and it works when I plug my controller directly into that but I have 3 separate USB hubs that were working and now none of them work. The HUB is still powered but neither keyboard or controllers are recognised by the MiSTer.

Subject: So I have an Analogue Pocket on order that should eventually ship, but i'm wondering if a handheld Mister setup will ever be on the table without needing to completely DYI it

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Pretty much the title. I'm only really interested in handheld gaming, and i'd love to try the Mister one day, but don't have 3d printing or design no-how and resources. Do any of y'all think that one day there'll be Mister or equivalent handheld options with a reasonable barrier of entry?

Subject: Latest MiSTer/Linux (?) update breaks SNES Switch Online controller USB compatibility

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey everybody, I've been using the SNES Switch pad plugged into my MiSTer with a USB cable as my go-to and never had issues, but the latest update seems to have broken compatibility (now the controller just charges.) I do recall reading that there's been a change to how Linux polls inputs/how Bluetooth works and I assume they're related somehow. Anyone know a fix or who to ask about this potentially?

Subject: BlisSter users Read: Latest Aug 31st update for MiSTer includes (Kernel updated to v5.14)

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

If you have not already updated your MiSTer to the latest release you should know that it includes a linux kernel update ( Kernel updated to v5.14 ). This Kernel update does cause issues with older BlisSTer firmware. This is easily remedied by updating your BlisSTer board to the latest (3.26) firmware. To make this an easy to understand process user TwoTone8 has created a video.

Subject: Black screen with all jotego cores

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I seem to get a black screen with all jotego cores. I don’t have an sdram board installed. Do all jotego cores require at least some sd ram? I’m trying to run for example 1941 and double dragon with no luck.

Subject: Want input on wireless keyboard for PC cores

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I just ordered my MiSTer this past week, and I'm set on regular controllers, but I want to know what keyboards people are using.

I'm looking at one of these with a built in trackpad for convenience, but are there games that require the home, end, etc keys? Mostly I want to play MSX, C64, and eventually X68000 roms

Subject: Can define USB Joystick buttons but core doesn't see coin button

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I can define joystick buttons, so the MiSTer can see the USB stick, but after saving the settings the core doesn't see it. I press coin button, nothing happens. Tried 2 different USB sticks, and 3 different arcade cores.

I have an older MiSTer (older software) which works fine with these same sticks.

Anyone else see this or know what solution might be?

Subject: Mister worth it for Turbografx 16/PC Engine, Neo Geo, and Arcade?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey guys, I've been contemplating getting a Mister. I'd like to buy one pre-built, so it's definitely an investment ($500). The problem is, I already own a NES, SNES, Genesis, GB, GBC, GBA all with Everdrives and a Retrotink 5x. I've never owned a Turbografx 16 and have always been interested in it and I've loved Neo Geo and Arcade games since I was a kid. My question is: Is the $500 price tag worth it strictly for Arcade, Neo Geo, and Turbografx 16 games?
