Subject: Weekly General Discussion Thread (December 12, 2021)

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

This thread is for the r/Piracy community to discuss whatever is on their mind, whether it is related to digital piracy or not.

  • Rules are still applicable so please do not request for specific pirated content (ie. specific movie, book, etc.) and definitely don't link to any. Do not mention specific media names asking for help in finding them.

  • Don't forget to check out the wiki, which contains a megathread with a list of sites/apps, tools, FAQ, and other useful resources.

  • Your question also may have been asked previously - you can search the subreddit via google - example: https://i.imgur.com/1jA767u.jpg

Subject: Alternate sites similar to 1337x

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

So with 1337x down for over 12 hrs now, I'm looking for similar sites. Torrentgalaxy, limetorrents, tor lock, rarbg, torrentfunk are some of the alternatives and safe to download from that I know of for all kinds of torrents. 1337x however has that friendly interface, as in you can see recently uploaded movies, shows, games etc Any other site that has similar interface and is safe ?

Also i realise that the above mentioned sites also have similar ish user friendly interfaces just that, with a few torrents I've found that 1337x has and the rest that I mentioned did not(yet).

Subject: Library.bz username and password

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I have to download a book that I requested on forum.mhut.og. Upon clicking the download link, it redirects me to library.bz and is asking for my username and password. I am using the username and password I use for forum.mhut but it is not working.

Any solutions?

Subject: Pirate Art Stickers

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I didn't want to spend 40$ to have RedBubble print 20 stickers. So I printed out my own. Here are the steps.

  1. Get scissors, a color printer, and sticker paper (I got mine from amazon for ~$10.00 USD. )
  2. Go on redbubble.com or really whatever sticker website and find a sticker you want.
  3. Google the name of the sticker and look at Google Images, you'll find a version without a watermark, right click and open the image in a new tab and download the image.
  4. Upload the image to this website, which will convert the image to a PNG and adjust the transparency edges and make it a PNG file. If the image you want isn't available as a sticker, use this website to upload your image, and it will create a sticker border around the image, which you can right click, download and subsequently upload to this site which can make it into a PNG file.
  5. Once it looks good, paste your image onto something like Adobe Illustrator or Gimp and print, you may need to change the media type to Label or Matte paper. Use the grey borders on the stickers to guide your cuts.
  6. Profit.
I guess you can pirate NFT's so I figured stickers are fair game.

Subject: Good source of SD TV shows and movies?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I recently set up a retro gaming room with a 480i TV and was wondering if there is a good way to find SD content play on it. Almost all sources nowadays have a minimum of 720p (for good reason, very few people use SD anymore) so I’m wondering if there is some niche site for SD content

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I'm currently using Syncler+ with Real Debrid, and while it works pretty much flawlessly and it's beautiful, it ain't really free. Are there any better alternatives?

Subject: Chrome Extension: show IMDB rating for Movies on 1337x website

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Here is the Chrome extension for 1337x.to, to show the IMDB rating of the movie on the Popular Movies Tab.

It's mostly for picking a good new movie. I know there is a torrentfreak's top 10 of the week list which accomplishes the similar goal, but in case you want to have it directly injected into 1337x, you're welcome.

- Caches results for a day
- For votes <1000 the background is opaque
- No sorting, although agree, would be a nice feature to have.

Subject: CG Persia & uploader Diptra - safe/reliable?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I have a wishlist of things I want to get from CG Persia, and it seems the majority of them have been uploaded by a user called Diptra. Does anyone know if this user and CG Persia in general is safe to download from? Any bad stories? Thanks

Subject: Need help with installing cracked game in Linux

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Im unsure how to install Total War 3 Kingdoms in Linux. Since drm doesn't support Linux, the latest version is available on 1337x by Goldberg and johncena. I'm not sure how to install it and the required software since I'm a windows user. Did successfully dual boot Ubuntu tho and did manage to torrent the .tar file onto an external hard drive. I just need help with how to run it pls.

Subject: Crash course to video quality terms?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Usually when I'm downloading a movie, i just sort by biggest size and download it. 9/10 times i get one with good quality.

How do you guys do it? I don't even know what some of the terms mean and what i should be looking for, at least i think i know what to avoid?

TS and Cam, these 2 i don't even download anymore, don't want to watch a film with that bad quality.

Subject: Unable to download from pandownloader with aria2/Mortix recently

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

To preface, I am using imwcr.cn as a site to download a BDRip (the torrent is dead) from pan.baidu and used Mortix successfully last night, but today I have been completely unable to download any files using aria2 or Mortix today. I'm leaning towards there being issues due to it being 5AM local in China, but I'm not sure.
Any insight, or any other methods to download from pan.baidu without an account?

Subject: Firewall is freaking out, true issue or not?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Are the alerts from my firewall indicating something that requires serious attention or is it normal. I am running an Unraid system with qbittorrent through PIA. I recently updated my security and now I am being flooded with alerts of possible network intrusion. I want to believe it if fine but I don't want to be wrong and lose my collection.
