Subject: 1337x shows that there's 1.4k+ seeders, but qbittorrent is showing 1 (5) or 0 (5) with several days ETA.
I'm not downloading any sort of obscure movie, it's just marvel. I wasn't able to replicate it with a random torrent with a similar number of seeds, and I've downloaded multiple torrents today, one of which had as low as 60 seeds with no issues. 1337x says it was checked 2 hours ago, and metadata is also taking a very long time to retrieve. Other torrents for the same movie are showing similar issues, albeit with much less seeds. Any help?

Subject: Do the Spotify replacements work with assistants and speakers?
I recently learned that there are Spotify-like apps or cracked apps you can download on Android for the premium experience. One main thing I use Spotify for is my Google home/assistant speakers. Would I still be able to use the same commands if I made the switch?

I just installed EZBlocker, but for some reason whenever I try to play anything on Spotify, it simply won't play. The time bar doesn't even move. Any help would be appreciated

Subject: Is it possible to get a virus from a download from a mainstream site?
Hey guys, I've been filesharing for about 15 years and in the early days I got a virus from something I downloaded from TPB. I alerted TBP and they they removed it. I'd had viruses before that I could remove myself, but this one was bad enough that I had to reinstall the entire OS.
It's been 12 years since then and I've scanned every single download ever since. But I've never found another one.
So my question for you is, are viruses still a threat from mainstream sites (TPB, 1337X, RARBG)?
Or did these sites figure out how to scan uploads for malware before making them accessible to the public?
(Also curious how Reddit manages to prevent malware?)
I'm a crusader against busywork, so if I don't need to be scanning every single thing I download, then that would make my world a little brighter.
Watcha think?

Idk if this counts as a redundant question, but I've never really understood the concept of why these sites have dmca contact options, since dmca is only applicable to the U.S, and I'm pretty sure the site owners would get in trouble with the feds if they operated in the U.S. Would really appreciate if someone could give me a proper explanation

Subject: Is it possible to get windows 10 enterprise iso? (Not ltsc)
The ways I have found to get windows 10 enterprise are to modify and use the media creation tool or installing windows 10 home and then upgrade to enterprise. Is there a plain windows 10 enterprise iso available to download? Preferably from Microsoft’s website itself.

I am planning to pay for a cloud account to store my files (games & movies). Most of them are several GBs or more. Would like sth that can play video files online and rarely has DMCA-related problems. I plan for this to be for my personal use only. I checked pcloud, mega, onedrive and ggdrive and they seem promising. Which services do you guys recommend? Thanks.

Subject: How to download the new Pearson online textbooks.
This is a guide to download the Pearson online textbooks from their website. The new version uses images with their own custom type-setting method (involving an xhtml file for text and formatting and woff for fonts).
Our process is going to involve opening the Dev-Tools (Ctrl+Shift+I) and inspecting the requests when we turn the page. We then download the images using aria2c and convert them to a pdf using ImageMagick (personally I used Adobe Acrobat Pro because it is available to me).
Our first step is to get the generic link (for your book) of the images that make up the book.
Open the textbook on any page and let everything load. Open the Dev-Tools with Ctrl+Shift+I and go to the Network tab. Write 'png' in the filter box
Press the next page button and you'll find that two new requests popped up:
Right click on either one and press Copy > Copy link address.
Make sure you have aria2c
installed for the use of it's parameterized urls. If you don't want to download it, you may use a shell built-in such as bash's Brace Expansion or a Batch for loop.
The command we want to use is:
aria2c -Z -P {LINK}
Where link should be in the form:
.../pages/page(WHATEVERnumber).png
Now modify this link so that instead of the number after page[0-9+].png, it says:
.../pages/page[1-x].png
Where x is the last page's number (Which you should get by navigating to the last page).
Now you may execute our modified command of the form:
aria2c -Z -P .../pages/page[1-x].png
Now that we have all of the images, execute this command
convert *.png --quality 100 output.pdf
You should have a final pdf now.
Edit: I can't have pretty markdown without removing the images I'm afraid. I'm going to leave them in.
Edit 2: Found a way to do it.

Hey I dont know if anyone ever mention about this but is there a way to scan a torrent data (online scanning) before downloading it, I don't want to waste time downloading gigabytes just for a virus.

Subject: The Lord of the Rings 4k UHD remux black border problem
So I finally got a 4k TV so wanted to go out and get the lotr in 4k. Disk space isn't an issue so I wanted to get the best quality torrents I could manage.
So on to my problem:
On rarbg I found the remux versions of the blueray with 60ish mb/s bit rate. But they seem to be 16:9 aspect ratio with black borders added on top and below. (Also tried playing them on my TV, 55inch LG c1, and the borders where there too. This makes sense since the original movie was shot in 2.39:1 according to google.
Howerver the most popular 4k torrents where in 2.39:1 but x265.10bit copressed with like <20 mb/s bit rate. I couldn't find any higher quality torrents without the anoying black borders.
Am I missing something? Why isn't there a higher quality torrent of the original 2.39:1 available? Or are the black borders simply hard coded into the bluray or something? Is there maybe a way to revert the bordered 16:9 to original aspect ratio without cropping parts of the image? Or am I just being stupid in some way and not understanding apsect ratios?

I looked through the mega thread but in most of them I didn't really understood what to do or quality was too low for mobile...

From my end, the site has been down for about 2 weeks. All I get are 522 errors with the odd 524 just to break up the monotony....
