Subject: Places to discuss TTRPG material
The sudden and tragic loss of a collection of sites that rhyme with TheDrove has been a heavy blow to players and gamemasters the world over. While a scattering of groups and places remain where fans of all manner of TTRPGs ranging from Call of Cthulhu to Dungeons and Dragons no doubt exist, they have thus far proven to be out of my reach.
I was hoping that somewhere in the not too distant future someone might show me one such place on the internet where likeminded individuals gather to discuss TTRPG material, books, pdfs, assets and so on.

Subject: Vobile inc. infringement claim?
I run a VPN service through a cloud server service, and just an hour ago i received a ticket through them, showing the claim that Vobile (acting on behalf of paramount pictures) sent. They're asking me to remove and disable access to the infringing material. Now question is, how do you think i should reply? Do I say that i removed and disabled access, or should I say something else? Not replying is not an option as they would disable my server. Let me know if there's more details you need. Thanks in advance!
Here's the email:
Dear Sir or Madam: We are contacting you on behalf of Paramount Pictures Corporation (Paramount Pictures). Under penalty of perjury, I assert that Vobile Inc., (Vobile) is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of certain exclusive intellectual property rights in the copyrighted works that are alleged to be infringed herein. Vobile has become aware that the below IP addresses have been using your service for distributing video files, which contain infringing video content that is exclusively owned by Paramount Pictures. Vobile has a good faith belief that the Paramount Pictures video content that is described in the below report has not been authorized for sharing or distribution by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law. I also assert that the information contained in this notice is accurate to the best of our knowledge. We are requesting your immediate assistance in removing and disabling access to the infringing material from your network. We also ask that you ensure the user and/or IP address owner refrains from future use and sharing of Paramount materials and property. In complying with this notice, (cloud service) should not destroy any evidence, which may be relevant in a lawsuit, relating to the infringement alleged, including all associated electronic documents and data relating to the presence of infringing items on your network, which shall be preserved while disabling public access, irrespective of any document retention or corporate policy to the contrary. Please note that this letter is not intended as a full statement of the facts; and does not constitute a waiver of any rights to recover damages, incurred by virtue of any unauthorized or infringing activities, occurring on your network. Still figuring out reddit "norms" but I think this is interesting enough
Got a message:
"virus detection specialist" lmfao no its not a virus, i just used a stupid amount of obfuscation
i did submit reports claiming false positives to the av companies that did say it was a virus, they usually marked it as a false positive but im too fucking busy to bother rn
- he says
But take a look at my post:
SO this means he looked at the title, scanned for keywords, saw "I am a virus detection specialist", and permabanned me. If you read what I posted I say I doubt this is intentional and hopefully someone will explain this. I mean the guy can't read?!
I know I'm complaining about something shouldn't really matter to me but I'm asking if anyone out there has seen things like this on the subreddit. With how quick he banned me, I wonder if anyone else has had trouble with it
Subject: Any ways to bypass the subscription for 1fichier?
So there’s a number of DDL sites in the megathread that I want to use for movies and games. But some of them are hosted on 1fichier, which places a limit on your downloads to only 1 file per hour. You can only resume it back to normal by subscribing to 1fichier service.
Is there any way for me to bypass this subscription for 1fichier, so I can keep downloading from them without any restriction? They offer really good speed too.

Subject: Noscript broke - Need alternative
I opened my firefox nightly browser on android just a few moment ago to find that noscripts UI is entirely fucked up and unusable, to the extent that I quite literally want to smack the dev in the mouth who decided to make this stupid choice, and then smack them again for forcing the update on me three stupid days after it released.
Alternatives and first and last names of the dev who made this update are highly appreciated.
Also, to the mods here: fuck you and your stupid games with these flairs

Subject: Announcing: r/SomebodyLeakThis
Today I'm launching a new subreddit. It's called r/SomebodyLeakThis, and it's a place to request documents from the reddit hivemind.
I see this operating similar to r/Scholar. Anyone can post a request, and if someone happens to have access to that document, well, maybe they'll be kind enough to post a link.
Safety and security are paramount, of course, so I've included a guide in the subreddit's wiki to help people upload securely. Any suggestions there are appreciated.
I hope your sub finds this helpful! It's just getting off the ground, so suggestions are welcome.
Subject: Can Dolby Vision+HDR hybrid files be separated?
I've recently learned about these hybrids, where we can take advantage of 4k remuxes in addition to the profile 5 DV on streaming (shoutout dovitool). My question is, if I ever wanted to revert this, is it possible to separate the hybrid file into individual DV and HDR files again? Or would I need to have kept copies of these pre-merge?

Subject: Unlocking an IPhone that has been iCloud locked?
I have an iPhone from a deceased family member and we’re looking at ways to unlock it. They died a while ago in hospice and their phone was sitting on my desk for a while since no one knew their login information and still don’t. We tried hard resetting it but nothing works since we don’t know the login information or his passcode. If you guys know any tips to get it open that’d be great, if not that’s fine too it’s not super urgent just looking to repurpose it for some of the little kids to play on. Thanks!
