Subject: run setup and keygens in VM, transfer loose files to host idea
was wondering if this is viable to reduce infection chance since it may seem MOST of the time malware writes to registry and injects through the "SET-UP installer" and not loose files it produces. You would basically NOT run any exes except the ones required to launch the program on your main while doing all the other stuff on VM. With games it seems easy but after trying to do this with after effects, while it did launch there were certain errors. I only copied the after effects folder from ProgramFiles, so there are some left in ProgramData, CommonFiles and ProgramFilesx86 thats related to adobe which i have yet to copy and test if it will fix.
Basically wanna know if theres something to this idea or is it just stupid, UNLESS adobe and most program installers do something deeper like go into registry ect to make it work i dont see why they couldnt get installed by loose files instead of automated installer.

Subject: trojan off steam unlocked?
i downloaded south park the stick of truth off of steamunlocked and windows said it found a trojan called "tiggre!rfn" . after looking it up it seems to be a legitimate trojan. but i was sure that steam unlocked scanned for viruses before uploading and was generally trusted? should i run it anyways?
Subject: didn't find it in the faq so asking here, is there someplace where you can find struggling torrents, aka with too few seeders, to link up and start seeding?
In short I am going to be upgrading from my old pc shortly, so all my steam bought games are going to be free space in the old girl, about 80g worth of space to work with, so I was considering leaving it running with some torrents, is there a place that can help me find that sort of thing? Or is there a type of torrent that generally struggles?

Subject: Online Piracy 101
You are in charge of teaching a class about online piracy. How would you organize your classes? What would be the topics and in what order would you present them to your students?
Here is my suggestion:
- Torrent - clients, trackers, indexers, seeding, VPN
- Direct Download - filehosting, how to evade ads
- How to make your own release - ripping, cracking (in theory at least)
- Online piracy history - from the 1980s to today
- Issues with the law - DMCA et al
Subject: Did YouTube's absurd ad scheme drive anyone else to revanced or etc?
I always tried not to use adblock for YouTube to support creators and I refuse to buy premium. I also watch so many people I can't support them all through other means like Patreon. I just couldn't take 3 ads then minutes in another 3 and etc. It's gotten insane, or have I just gotten too used to a not sustainable amount of ads? I dunno but either way it really sucks.
Subject: Best MP3/Video player?
I got a security job where I sit around alot of the time and I also have a SHIT TON of FLAC, MP3, MP4 and other formats of video and audio that I want to consume when im sitting around. What would be the best player for that, an old ipod or something? I wanna be able to just drag my videos from my PC to an SD card or something and stick it in so im right as rain with as little muss and fuss as possible. What are my options?
Subject: Zlibrary alternatives?
So Zlibrary was taken down recently, which sucks because as someone living in South Africa, it's absurdly expensive to import some books that aren't available in our local book stores.
Are there any sites like zlibrary? LibraryGenesis was recommended, but the site is confusing and I don't think they do piracy?
Subject: Why do many pirate sites make you jump through hoops?
As a teacher, I used to download English language teaching books from a site, but it got to be a pain because as soon as I clicked on a link it would take me to things like Rapidshare or Media Fire which would be full of ads, and you had to navigate these to find the link that worked, which often would be dead anyway. So I've always wondered, what's the point of all that - why not just have an easy link without the faff of finding it? Is it to piss people off? Just to have a laugh? Uploaders don't want to make it easy for you (for some perverse reason)?

Subject: whats going on with qbittorrent?
i had always heard qbittorrent was a "safe" torrent app, and have been using it for years at this point. but a few days ago, malwarebytes started to block dozens and dozens of links from qbit each hour.
i found it very strange since i dont download shady stuff and am always checking my PC for malware and etc.
i did try removing all my torrents and reinstalling qbit, but even then, without any torrent active, these blocked links notifications still come. is qbittorrent corrupted just like utorrent or what?
Subject: is it just me or did fitgirl change the installer music?
reinstalling cyberpunk 2077 and instead of the usual instrumental track, there's ladies singing in something that sounds like russian?
ik it's a pretty insignificant question but been filling up the 2tb ssd on my new PC so have listened to the usual track a ton, and this really stuck out to me. Not that I mind.
Subject: What kind of books were present on Zlib but not libgen?
I've been using libgen for quite a while to find books I've been interested in (mostly scientific stuff such as mathematical textbooks) and it has basically everything I've ever requested.
Now I'm reading that this closed zlib site I've never used supposedly had even bigger database and I'm curious what kind of books were present there that are unavailable on libgen? Was it fiction?
