That sounds like blessed freedom to me. I live in my boxer briefs whenever possible. I'll throw on clothes when I must, but the nice thing about AZ is that you really don't need clothes to be comfortable.

I bought 3 packs of 7, each colour of the rainbow, so I can colour code which day I put them on. It helps me remember to actually get in the shower more often. I'm trying to remember that I'm not a gross awful mess and that taking care of myself helps me feel less depressed. So far it's marginally helpful, and that's good enough.

The whole, "personal hygiene is a sign of depression," thing bugs me.
I get it that there is a *benefit* in personal psyche to spending time on your personal grooming and feeling good about how you look - that it is actually a little bit of beneficial narcissisms.
But the absence of that desire to engage in this personal narcissism is not an indication of diminished value of the self, necessarily. I don't care about other people in the sense of needing to see them, be around them, get their validation - as much as most people - but I have lots of projects I'm *really* focused on going on most of the time - lone activities - and personal grooming takes away from the roughly 8 to 16 hours a day I have to pursue those things. When I'm skimping on personal grooming, it is because I love OTHER solitary things I'm doing so much I don't have time for the personal grooming - which is really something we do for OTHER people. I can live with my own filth to a very severe degree. :)

I can too, which is why I try not to. I hate spending the time on it so much that I tend to just do the things I WANT to do instead of the things society tells me I should do, but also I don't want my computer chair to smell or be greasy. That one is for me. I deserve better than to live in a room that smells of cabbage farts and armpit onion. I do enjoy being clean, I just hate spending the time on the washing lol

I've got THAT going for me too. I don't get greasy, really, and I don't really get offensive odor... not body, anyhow. I get breath that could kill a buzzard... but even my farts are pretty damn sterile.
People always go... "Sure, sure, your shit doesn't stink, Donny. YOU think so..."
But my wife, who has gone on long camping trips in remote places with me, will tell them...
"No. He isn't lying. We go camping, he comes out 2 weeks later and doesn't smell, isn't even really dirty... and I've got a cloud of flies buzzing around me..."
I've *never* had real bad odor problems. The people on the other side of my family... oh my God... my half sisters, my nephew... just terrible.

The idea of "Ghetto culture" as we understand it today may have originated in African American communities - but the culture is now so global, pervasive and so predominantly white - that calling behavior, values, or other things "ghetto" has lost any ethnic connotations it ever carried. The same thing goes for words like "thug," "hoodlum" or "hood". Calling someone "ghetto," is not saying, "you're acting BLACK," it is saying, "you are ignorant, you are low class, you lack manners, you have cheap, superficial tastes, you crave attention."
The idea of ghettos, thugs, hoods and hoodlums are all concepts that were actually appropriated by African American oriented cultures and communities from other communities, usually poor ethnic immigrant European communities like Italians, the Irish and the Jews - in the first place. The only reason these words and concepts became associated with Africian Americans is because gangsta hip-hop adopted these concepts as markers of their own experience.
Every person Kyle shot was white. All the people hit on the freeway protesting were white. It's not about black people, it's about racist white leftists appropriating black oppression for their own political purposes.
The whole thing is clown world right now. Black people stole these words from white immigrant cultures, and now they're telling white people they can't use those words to describe them, because it is racist, and they're empowered by white people who are starting riots in their neighborhoods that are destroying the economic opportunity of the people who live there - and black people consistently VOTE for these white people that are doing this to them.

It's why they hate the Proud Boys so much. They fight back, and win. People are pushing back in court, too. People are getting sued for CRT training their employees because it's racial discrimination. I'm surprised it took this long but I'm glad it's starting to move back toward sanity.
And the narrative that the Proud Boys is a white supremacist group is so strong. They probably *have* white supremacists among their ranks. So do the Catholics, the Shriners, the BAR association, and various other groups.
But at some point, the leadership and direction of the group had to realize that they needed to be an inclusively MEN's group... that being MEN was more important than the color of the man's skin.
But the narrative is so strong, the media reinforcement so constant...
I mean - my sister still thinks Rittenhouse was *guilty*.

Today in Perfectly reasonable and rational perspectives that I am hesitant to post on mainstream social media but still need to get off my chest somewhere:
The other thing about this getting ANY sort of traction is that it absolutely seems like a slap in the face to people who were REALLY raped or gang-raped - and didn't just have the option of hitting the power button or pulling their headset off.

Yeah... it is like when I drive my BMW off a cliff in the Santa Monica mountains playing Assetto Corsa - I'm completely helpless and as I tumble down to the ocean I regret that I didn't drive more reasonably as suddenly I know EXACTLY what it is like to drive a car off a cliff.
Or how I have PTDS from all my time spent at war in CoD, Modern Warfare, Quake III and other first person shooters. I've killed so many (digital) men, women and children in my life... and I carry the trauma of each one of those deaths with me every day. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night screaming...
Let's not even get into the things I've done in Grand Theft Auto.
And I feel like I was forced to do those things by the programmers and software designers who created those worlds. I should probably lawyer up. They enabled me by creating fictitious worlds where I was free to assume roles and incapable of simply not playing their games.

The politest nation on the earth is definitely showing that they know how to serve up a side of tyranny with every order of poutine. The day before yesterday it was, run and hide we have all of your faces captured and all your license plates logged and we'll hunt you down in our own time for daring to disagree with your betters. Yesterday they released the hounds with stun grenades and pepper spray and even cancelled parliamentary debate on the implementation of the Emergencies Act. People have had their workplaces called and at least one has already been fired. They were finally threatening to seize all vehicles and freeze bank accounts of anyone who didn't leave this morning. 21 vehicles were impounded and over 100 people taken into custody. They were loading people up into paddy wagons, including people they knew were citizen journalists and driving them 20 minutes away into a part of town where it is difficult to get an uber or a cab and dumping them out so they could move people out faster without the governmental impact of having to process them legally and put them all through the system at once.
Good stuff. I wonder what all the people who made good on the threat to leave the US if the Orange Menace took power think of all of this.
I've been meaning to get to this message since I saw you post it - and I have mixed emotions. I saw you trying so hard to be moderate and middle of the road and giving people the benefit of the doubt in 2019-2020 - trying to compromise and find the middle ground and make peace. So it makes me kind of genuinely feel bad for you that this is the place they've driven you.
And I think you do this because you're a genuinely compassionate guy who has faith in the good of humanity.
The world steamrolls over people like that. I lost my faith in humanity far before 2016 - and I've been on a Do Onto Others, FIRST, and fuck the whole of the law kind of guy since about 1984.

Trudeau basically did to the the Freedom Truckers what the Left accused Trump of *wanting* to do to BLM and AntiFA during 2016 - and, if you haven't noticed, the Left is doing to the "Capitol Insurgency" protesters what Trudeau is doing to the Freedom Truckers. It turns out that Trump wasn't the world's next Hitler - Trudeau and Biden were.
And I know how much people hate it when I tell them I told them so...
Most of the people who threatened to leave, if they left - are probably happy with the tyranny and authoritarianism. The mistake is thinking that it is ever about freedom and liberty versus tyranny and authoritarianism...
It is about getting to practice tyranny and authoritarianism that you SUPPORT, while not being subject to any you dislike. That is what all of this is about - it isn't about equity and equality and respecting all rights...
It is about being the boot - not the face underneath it. It is about *revenge*. When you hear for calls for JUSTICE - don't be fooled by that. Justice means they want a pound of flesh from you for every pound they think anyone has ever took from them - whatever their cause is. They don't want to coexist. They don't want to undo wrongs and move on from there... they won't feel appeased until someone else experiences what they feel they've experienced. It doesn't even have to be anyone directly *responsible* for anything they've dealt with - it just has to be someone who LOOKS like whoever wronged them.
This is what drives the mobs - and Trudeau and Biden know this - it is what they accused Trump of exploiting - *populism*.
And what do I always say about the Left, other than that if not for double standards, that they would have no standards at all?
That people almost always *suspect* others of being guilty of what they hold in their heart - and this is most on display on those on the Left. The men marching for equal rights for women, are sexists and misogynists. The whites marching for black equality, are racists. The people who want guns taken away - know that if they had a gun, they would be in prison for murder. I hear Leftists say these things all the time.
We've passed more than one critical inflection point in the last 5 years. I think it is too late - we've passed the threshold of Autocratic Leftist Authoritarianism where we can't immediately turn back - we can't self correct. We're going to go further down this rabbit hole - far further - to the point where we won't recognize our society - and we may not live to see it reversed in our lifetimes. Canada has fallen. Most of Europe has fallen.
We are not far behind.
Russia is probably the only nation that remains of FREE people who the Government actually fears - Russia and the former Soviet Bloc nations. Which makes me wonder why Russia is attacking their own. I think they see the Ukraine as falling prey to the same disease that has ravaged the rest of the Free World - and I don't mean Covid...
