![]() | Hey folks! I've been preparing this LCD cab with MiSTer and now, everything is ready to go but... I'm still having a little issue. I've been able to solder some things to make the cable look as "original" as it was (Marquee, ON/OFF from outside...) but can't find a way to use the NeoGeo counter once again. And I have to say that it looked pretty cool, I surely would like to be able to rewire it. It's a pretty common 2 digit counter, like the ones used on arduinos, it has just been soldered on a PCB to make it easier to wire. But, well, my question is, how do you think I could make this thing work? I was asking myself if it would be possible in some way to datamine the code of the MVSX because it's using a modified Linux version, but what be the point, I don't even know how I could connect it to my FPGA... So my second idea was: - Buy 2 Arduinos. Or I could just make it always 14/03, which is my mom's birthday, since she's the one who will get this cab for her birthday when it will be done (well, she already got it, but in my opinion, it's still not done) Any advice? Thanks a bunch for any help! [link] [comments] |
Is there any optimal settings such as resolutions I should be aware of when using this core? I tried Pac-Man, PAC-Man 8K and Mario Bros. and they all kept dropping picture frequently while playing. I tried 1080p60 and 720p60 and got the same results. Could not get Montezuma’s Revenge to run all. I’m fairly new to MISTer but haven’t had these issues with 1080p or 720p before on other cores. I’m completely new to the a2600 core but am getting into Atari so thought I’d play with my mister.

Subject: Alternative power supplies to the Meanwell GST25A05-P1J
For months I've looked on and off for a Meanwell GST25A05-P1J as the Github guide suggested and noticed this power supply is virtually unobtainable almost everywhere. Is there a good alternative to this power supply?

Does anybody know if it's possible to redefine what the User button on the IO board does for each core? It currently seems to act as a soft reset button in most cores.
Specifically, I'm looking to use it as the "Pause" button for the Sega Master System core, so I can use my original controller with SNAC. (As I'm sure you all know, the pause button on the physical console was built into the chassis, rather than being a joypad function.)
I've tried remapping the button using the standard controller mapping options, which appeared successful when actually remapping, but it still resets the core when in game.
Cheers!

Subject: Having problems getting RetroBit Sega Genesis controller working with MiSTer Add-Ons SNAC Adapter.
Been trying out MiSTer Add-Ons SNAC Adapters with wired controllers. So far my NES and SNES controllers have worked great. However, I’ve tried using the Retro-Bit Official Sega Genesis Controller 6-Button Arcade Pad with the Genesis SNAC adapter and it doesn’t seem to work properly. In settings, I’ve turned Serial to SNAC, tried both disabling and enabling 6 Button Mode, tried both disabling and enabling Swap Joysticks and still nothing. Either it works only to a degree but always holding right and only the A button working or it doesn’t work at all. I know it’s not the controller because it works fine on my Analogue Mega Sg. Does anyone have any experience with this controller ob MiSTer or the Genesis SNAC adapter?

Just that: how do you know how much RAM is installed in your MiSTer?

I've got a Mister on the way and since I play in the room next to my sleeping kid wonder if there is any way or any plans for Audio Out via the headphone jack on a PS4/Xbox controller? I know this works on Windows10 via USB. Couldn't find if even USB Headphones would work (not my situation.)
Would make the Mister just a dream for this tired dad to use. Thanks in advance!

I am interested in hearing your opinions on the various MiSTer light gun options. Why did you pick your solution or did you find issues with one?
The options as I see them are
- SNAC adapter plus various adapters
- GunCon 2 via USB
- Use a Wiimote
I have original NES, SNES, Saturn and DC light guns, a Wiimote and an analog IO board so I could go in the direction of any of these. Wiimote is free as I have one an SNAC and GC2 are roughly equivalent in price where I live
As I see so far:
SNAC seems good to use my existing controllers, adds some nice authenticity.
GC2 would cut out the extra adapters though and be a little more cleaner.
Thank you for your thoughts

Hi, i'm hoping to get into Mister and have a few questions before I buy in.
Firstly, for SNAC controller adaptors, are the in-between adaptors truly necessary? this video on youtube shows someone plugging the controller adaptor straight into the IO board without the adaptor and it seems to be working fine, a comment section chain there also seems to replicate these results. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wPv5bljgfs&t=165s
Secondly, Is it possible to get away without using a USB hub? My current plan is to use a standard USB to micro USB adaptor for my keyboard to set up, then simply using a wired dualsense controller. I intend on using ethernet for the set up so I wont need a wifi or bluetooth dongle either.
Lastly, is the 8gb sd card included enough? I only intend on having a handful of GBA and SNES games to start with. If I wanted to upgrade SD cards in the future is it simple to copy everything over to a new card? Or perhaps I could just add a new card in the IO board slot?
Thank you!! :)

I haven’t been able to find an answer to this, but does anyone know if the JAMMIX board supports a second RAM module?
Before anyone asks: this would be for the PS1 core and future-proofing.

Subject: Can someone please point me to Amazon part links for the Component Pack for Multisystem 3D Printed Enclosure please?
For some reason (maybe I'm stupid!) all the M# and lengths are really confusing to me, as are the length and type of brass bits I need.
I just need all the metal bolts and brass as seen here
