I've setup everything and everything works fine and I'm able to get into the mister menus and change settings. But for some reason there's no actual games or rom files and I can't play anything. I've heard that the update all script takes a long time and I was expecting it would take a few hours. But when I ran it, it only took about 20 minutes and then it went back to the main menu.
I can see the core menus, for example I go into the arcade cores and see a list of game titles but if I want to actually play them nothing happens and it's a black screen and it has an error message that says "file not found" and when I go back and try and run update all again it says that it's up to date and doesn't need to download anything and it doesn't do anything. I was under the impression that the script would download and organize all of the rom files and place them into the core folders so I could play them. Do I have to find and manually copy all the files over into their respective folders myself on the desktop?

Subject: Is there a bluetooth dongle that can connect directly the the MiSTer?
I'm only ever going to use wireless controllers, so don't need the USB hub for that. I also don't need a wifi dongle, as my house has ethernet everywhere.
Is there a bluetooth dongle that'll connect directly to the USB port on the MiSTer? As far as I can tell, that would let me skip the USB hub without any tradeoff.
Thanks!

When I plug my Guncon 2 to my Mister, I’m not able to get into the menu. Like when I start the PSX or NES cores, it won’t allow me to get to the menu to setup the input for the Guncon 2. I have tried having my ps4 controller and Guncon 2 plugged and just the Guncon 2 plugged. But when I unplug the T cable from the Guncon 2, but leaving it plugged in the usb, I can get to the menu. How should the setup look like mister? Do I really need a better power supply or should the 5v 2a work?

Just got my Mister a couple of days ago and loving it so far. Just tried DoDonPachi on the Arcade section and the "rotate screen" menu option doesn't seem to do anything. I'm using it with a consumer crt via vga with scart if that helps! Thanks.

Just setup my Mister a few days ago and comparing my original Megadrive through a consumer crt with rgb scart to the Mister via vga-to-scart on the same CRT there's something "better" about it, maybe crisper and more fluid movement. Would there be a technical reason why this might be true or am I imagining things because it's my new shiny toy?!

Subject: Just got my MiSTer from MiSTer Addons. Can I put games on the secondary SD card or do they need to stay on the primary?
Right now I’ve just got one 8GB card with the system files and that won’t cut it for ROMs. Thinking about buying a 1TB card for ROMs. I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to have one either way, but can I just put ROMs on it and put it in the secondary slot, or do I need to copy system files to the 1TB card and add ROMs, then use the 8Gb card for secondary? It looks like perhaps the secondary card is just used for X68000? Is that right?

I have most of the console cores set up, but I’m interested in setting up computer cores. I’m wondering what people use for keyboards.
I’m conflicted on between getting a modern USB mechanical keyboard and finding a USB converter for an actual retro keyboard.
Any recommendations?

Should be receiving the last component of my MiSTer next month (De10 itself) and am looking forward to playing SNES, Genesis, GBA, and PS1 in particular.
I’m pretty sure image quality will be largely the same on MiSTer vs RetroArch (output from AYN Odin) for the 2D systems, but my question is on PS1.
Playing on an LG CX, outputting 1080p or 1440p, do I understand correctly that MiSTer is integer scaling the image resulting in a “clean” original looking picture, where as Duckstation for example is able to upscale 5x, thus resolving more actual detail?
Just trying to get a sense of the tradeoffs I have for PS1 specifically, settings biases aside, which method will result in the best picture for ME.

Hi. I've followed a tutorial for Atari ST that involves booting to the desktop and selecting a game from a list on a hard drive image but I'd really like to be get a floppy image to just boot like they would on a real machine. So far when I select an ST file and restart core I just get a black screen. Is there a setting somewhere or do I did special disk images? Thanks.

Subject: Difference between Arcade cores and Mame Alternatives?
So in my excited first couple of days I downloaded probably more than I needed and downloaded this Mame Alternatives collection through the updater. They seem almost the same I think to the main arcade cores? They take up quite a bit of space but are the necessary? I haven't been able to find out what they're for.

Subject: Does a neogeo controller add functionality to games?
I've never played with a real NeoGeo controller and was wondering if I should get one of the original gamepads but first wanted to know if they added any functionality to the games? For example in Metal Slug I can't use my D-pad to fire in a diagonal direction but does the official controller allow this? The thumbstick looks like it has 8 points rather than 4?
Hope that makes sense, thanks!

Subject: SNAC adapter for wii classic controller / snes and nes classic controllers
Are there any options of a snac adapter for these controllers? If not, can anybody direct me to the info needed to build one myself? (I don't know kicad extremely well, but if there's a tutorial for the other controllers, I'm sure I could jerry-rig something)

Hello!
Never tried to update my mt32-pi before, thought I'd give it a try now...
wpa_supplicant.conf is correctly setup and I can see the device's ip on my network (and on its screen), so it goes online fine.
mt32-pi.cfg reads:
mode = wifi
dhcp = on
hostname = mt32-pi
ftp = on
ftp_username = mt32-pi
ftp_password = mt32-pi
However, ftp won't connect. mt32-pi cannot be found on my network as a device ("Invalid Server name or address: mt32-pi") and trying to connect through the ip gives me "FD_CONNECT - WSAECONNREFUSED: Connection refused".
Even setting DHCP to off, and assigning an IP doesn't work; I can see the device on my network on its correct IP, said IP is displayed on the screen, but I still get "Connection Refused".
Am I missing something?

Subject: Should I extract games before adding to MiSTer?
I'm new to this and still trying to set things up. I assumed that unzipping my ROMs would be for the best as some flash carts aren't able to load games from compressed archives. When unzipping my Sega CD games though, each 7z file extracts to multiple files. This seems like it's going to make it a pain in the ass to browse. I'm wondering if the MiSTer needs the files to be extracted and if there's going to be any benefit to doing this.

Subject: CRT displaying fuzz after update-- everything fine on HDMI, not vga
I have tried 2 different 2600 snac boards and 2 different controllers and nothing works. It is always turning right. Like in Asteriods, the ship always spins, or in adventure, the dot always goes right. It worked perfectly when I first got all this (about a year ago). Any ideas?
