Subject: Cad drawing or dimensions for mt32-pi?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Does anyone know if there is a cad drawing for the mt32–Pi? I’m getting a case built and I need those dimensions, the 4 screw holes, led screen location and the two buttons.

Subject: Anyone got any good config files for the IPAC2 and Mister?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

So just setting up my arcade and the IPAC works a treat for MAME games but not so much for navigating the menus or core selection etc.

I was wondering if any of you have any IPAC custom configs you use with your Mister on the IPAC for easier navigation?

I have a list of Keyboard shortcuts here - https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?t=1193 but just wondered if someone has done the leg work already?

Subject: Can the mister access files via WebDAV?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I'm considering building a mister and already use webdav to easily sync saves and roms from my nas.

I’ve seen plenty of documentation about connecting to cifs shares, but I haven’t seen any information on webdav. I have configured webdav on other Linux systems, so assuming dav2fs is available for mister, I can probably figure it out.

Worst case, I can always just use CIFS. I usually perfer webdav in situations where I may move a device outside my network, but I admit that I don't see myself doing that a ton.

Subject: Problem with AO486 shared folder

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Problem with AO486 shared folder

I setup the shared folder for the AO486 core and it was working fine to transfer files through FTP. Suddenly today it's acting strange.

I can see the files I transferred in the shared folder but when I try to copy them I get "File not found" errors.

In this case I'm trying to copy a game. It's weird because I can run and play the game while it's located in the shared drive but cannot move the files anywhere else.

Any ideas?

Subject: reccomend me a wired controller

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey all, was looking at the mister controller latency page and noticed that Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony don't make the best controller in that regard besides the ps classic or ps5 wired. I don't have experience with 8bitdo I was curious if anyone has a reccomend that will be able to do all inputs up to ps1.

Might just use the ps5 controller and a super long type c for now

Subject: Mister Multisystem vs Ultimate Mister Pro?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello! I've a noob question. I've been looking at different MiSter setups and I'm kinda puzzled at differences between Mister Multisystem and Ultimate Mister Pro (from ultimatemister.com), especially since the cost of the latter is about double the Multisystem which - as I understand it - already covers all the bases for different cores for gaming?

Subject: psx core can't configure buttons

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey guys every time I try to rebind my keys I end up losing more and more face buttons. It started with square and triangle being swapped but now every button except triangle is working now.

Sorry never had this issue and when I rebind through the menu it just keeps getting more incorrect

Subject: 15 kHz or 31 kHz monitor?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I'm a bit of noob and appreciate any help. I'm wondering if there are any cores that are 31 kHz only? If so, please direct me. I'm asking this because I have a consumer CRT that has been RGB-modded and is 15 kHz. I have a couple of 31 kHz monitors but would like to sell them to make space.

A somewhat related question is can I run cores expecting a 15 kHz signal on a 31 kHz monitor? If so, do I need a scan doubler or can I use a custom config or script or line doubler? Or none of the above?

Thanks all.

Subject: Genesis core issue with 6 button pad SNAC

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I’m using an officially licensed 6 button retro bit repro pad via SNAC on the Genesis core.

Tried it with Sonic 1,2&3 earlier and for some reason only the ‘start’ and ‘a’ buttons seem to be working with those games, and sonic just slowly walks forward himself.

I’ve tried in other games (Zombies…) and seems ok, and I’ve also run a test input ROM and all D Pad directions and buttons display correctly in this…

Any ideas why it might not be working correctly?

TL;DR: 6 button pad over SNAC not working with sonic. Why?

Subject: How do you enable the Data Cache option in PSX core?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

According to this, the Data Cache option should be available as part of the PSX Core. However, I can't find this setting anywhere in the core options. It's supposedly under the Miscellaneous settings between "Turbo (Cheats Off)" and "Pause when CD slow", but I don't have the option visible there or anywhere I can see.

My installed core version is dated 2022.12.21. Any ideas?

Subject: Controls not working in some arcade games

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey all, I have a weird issue where the controls just don't work in some arcade games but are fine in others.

For example, Street fighter, aliens v predator etc all work fine, coin, start etc register as expected.

But if I load up say bomberman it doesn't recognise and controls, however if I go into the core menu and remap the joystick controls it recognises every single button press.

Any ideas?

Subject: Suggestions for robust simple controller

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I have been trying to find a SNES/NES-style simple controller with good build quality.

I have used a Logitech controller but I don’t need the analogue sticks for the cores I like to use. I also had a couple of 8bitDo SNES controllers, but the buttons stopped working and opening it up and doing a bit of cleaning didn’t help.

On the one end of the spectrum there are so many inexpensive controllers out there, while at the other the arcade sticks with micro switches and metal cases are over the top for me.

Can anyone suggest a good quality durable handheld controller?
