Subject: USB C on MiSTer?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Has anyone considered replacing the DC barrel from the I/O board for a USB C? After all the MiSTer needs 5V that is what all the USB C chargers provide. This would allow me to, for example, power my MiSTer from a power bank or share the same charger of my steam deck…

Or am I missing something?

Subject: Best place to get a full set of SNAC/SNAX adaptors, based in UK

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Title says it all really, looking to get a full set of adaptors, I really like that some are now 2p compatible, I would prefer to buy as a bundle rather than a couple from various stores, also I like the ones that have a nice case/ shroud on them, I know its only aesthetic but I like them.

Have a Multisystem so I don't need to actual SNAC board, just the USB style adaptors, have looked far and wide and can't find anywhere with a set/bundle or that carry all the adapters in the same store.

I don't have to buy in the UK but closer the better I think.

Cheers

I'd like to use a USB DDR pad and a DualShock simultaneously, both as Player 1 (one for dancing, one for navigating menus). Is there any way to do this? Thanks in advance!

Hi all - when I boot this core I get a blank screen. The github page says it does not require a boot ROM but the Mister hangs when I run the core and the OSD menu is no longer responsive. I have a single 128MB memory module installed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Game Boy Color core just got messed up on me. Tried loading a custom SGB border and this happened.

First pic is with SGB mode off. Second pic is with SGB mode on. Hitting "Reset Settings" fixes nothing.

Subject: Looking for recommendations on a power supply for Australian outlets.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey everyone,

I'm building a MiSTer and have everything on its way to me. My primary concern is I have pretty well no experience using foreign appliances as most things I buy are designed for my country and I would absolutely hate to fry the DE10 Nano.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a power supply I can buy that will work well for Australian outlets?

Thank you.

Subject: Why my NES core runs faster than normal?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I'm playing Super Mario Bros using Batocera and Steam Deck. When I switch to MiSTer and try to play it, it's much faster and almost unplayable. So I guess it's running faster than it should. Any suggestions please?

Subject: SNAC and Sega/SNAX and PS1 confusion

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I was looking for some SNAC splitters, and came across Mister Addons website. It says "Sega consoles will likely forever be single controller port." It appears that you can have multiplayer (Genesis, Saturn) for SNAC using a multitap according to them. However, Ironclad offers SNAC splitters for Genesis (albeit through their serial SNAC port, guess you could use a serial to USB adapter or is it ironclad only?).

Secondly, Mister Addons shows PS1 controllers are only supported through something called SNAX? Not sure what it is or how its implemented. I did come across Antonio Villena's website which has a SNAC PS1 splitter that doesn't need an adapter. (No Sega splitters though)

Seems to be a lot of information here not lining up among different accessory makers and was just trying to unravel and see what was correct. I was hoping to find and acquire SNAC splitters for Atari, NES, SNES, Genesis, Saturn, and PS1 at some point. Not everything is developed though.

Thanks in advance

Subject: Can I move SNES games from my Mister to an Analogue Pocket somehow with saves?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Have an upcoming trip. Is there any way to move the data? I read NES and genesis might be easier for save states. But for SNES? Any way to do this?

Subject: Can anyone tell me what cables to get for my Sony Trinitron PVM 14N5U?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Can anyone tell me what cables to get for my Sony Trinitron PVM 14N5U?

I have RGB cables and component cables. RGB ones are the ones that fit, but there's only one slot for the 5 ends, and it only displays black and white.

Component cables don't fit at all.

I think it takes S-Video but I'm not sure. Also it seems like some kind of adapter is required for that(?). Idk why I couldn't just use a VGA to S-video cable without an extra adapter but I'm not good with this kind of thing.

Subject: Performance on Chrono Cross

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello everyone.

I've been playing Chrono Cross on the PSX core, and the performance is pretty bad. It seems like framerate is almost never as a locked 30, especially during battles. Even walking is screens with a few NPCs can cause frame drops.

I'm just wondering if there's an issue with the core or if this is how the game ran in original hardware as well. I haven't noticed any problems with other psx games.

Also, has anyone ever played this game on the psx 2x core? I'm wondering if it's a viable solution or if the game breaks too much.

Thanks :)

Subject: Genesis Core, some games save and load, others do not?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello,

I've owned my misterfpga for a couple months now and I've been loving it so far. Mainly using the SNES core and PSX core. After the first day or two of using it I learned how to save properly.

I'm currently playing Wonderboy in Monsterworld and had autosave set on the Genesis core. After saving though, the game doesn't present a save file after resetting. I've checked my SD card and a .sav file is there. I've tried alternate roms, same issue.

I've also tried manually saving backup ram and loading backup ram.

The odd thing is this doesn't happen with all Genesis games.. Sonic 3 and Crusader of Centy save and load fine.

Any tips or guidance would be appreciated.
