So, I am trying to get Pimiga 1.5 running on my RPI 400. I downloaded an image that says it is for the rpi400, but when I boot, it goes past the rainbow screen, and then it seems to start emulation only to completely freeze up with a black screen.
I tried the install on my RPI3b, and it boots just fine into workbench there. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Subject: So this is sort of Amiga related, as it's (mostly) based on screenshots from the Amiga. I made myself a Monkey Island theme for Retropie!

so i recently bought a pack of floppies for a german ebay user, just to see what werid things i found inside. mostly were games i owned already but other were pd demos and homebrew from the german scene, which were interesting. also, there was an unlabeled disk with a iFF file. I tried to fire it up, but it said i need to have delux paint 5.
Being that DP V seems to require an AGA cpu, and i own a 500+, i installed it on winuae and imported the mistey image...and i got this
https://imgur.com/gallery/KhRWRK4
The image was called "image". and it's set at a resolution where i see some "jittering", when moving the mouse. how do i solve that? i tried changing resolution, but the image will be distorted as well
also, how did the "artist" managed to change the orange font that he used on the building?
But even more important...
What IS this picture? I tried looking online for this place, looks it is a restaurant called Dyna Fyr in norway, but those writings are not there, seems like it's writte "pagenhardt 1889"? what does that even means? yeah not amiga related but i liked to solve misteries around these pics :P

I got the bug recently to boot up my old childhood a2000 and muck around with it. Unfortunately this time when I plugged it back in and booted it up all I was greeted with was a yellow screen. Taking it apart I found that it looks like the VARTA battery had leaked and there was a bunch of corrosion on the CPU.
It was occassionally completing bootup but never successfully loaded a game. Since attempting to clean the CPU up it's gone from a yellow to a green and now no screen. I've given it a scrub with some vinegar and an IPA rinse.
Does this board look like I may revive it if I cleanup the CPU a bit more and replace the socket? It looks like the pin on the socket closest to the battery broke off.
As a side note I finally had an excuse to open it up and see what board my parents had gotten installed to copy discs with. Looking around online it's got a supercard ami II hooked up between the 2 drives. Are these still useful?

Subject: Usually, I play older games like Stunt Car Racer, Lemmings, F1GP and so on. However, from time to time you discover a jewel that was not known to you before - as in this case: Long story short: Highway Sprint
Back in the day I had a standard A500 with workbench 1.3 and best I can recall just about all software I came across ran on these machines. I assume they were the main development target given they had the largest install base.
This means I never really had to consider how software compatibility works for the various Amigas. Obviously AGA targeted software only ran on the AGA machines. And I've read that various kickstarts carry some compatibility issues, for some pieces of software.
But beyond this all the Motorola Amigas essentially binary compatible with one another? Or did parallel Amiga models have other hardward/architecture compatibility issues?

I wanted to test out Pimiga content using FS-UAE on Windows but when I try to decompress the downloaded 7zip file I’m getting an error that it’s corrupt. I’ve tried a couple of decompression programs on Windows and Ubuntu.
I see there’s a hash for the .img file but can anyone tell me the correct hash for 7zip file?Pimiga 1.5 MF edition as downloaded from https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=syWCR89qQtg

Subject: A1200 - werre there noteworthy titles that wouldn't work on A500/600 ?
I just wonder how much of an oomph had A1200 brought to the line.
It had some new capabilities, but was anyone actually using them and to what extent ? So, if anyone could list real-life differences WRT A-500, it would be nice to know. I mean, besides obvious ones, like IDE interface and built-in HDD etc.
Someone mentioned that AGA could do base VGA in 4 colours. Fine.
Were there programs that could make use of such abiliteas and make notable diference ?
Were there some that needed A1200 ?

Subject: Amiga Electronics CAD - "Newio" - has anyone used it ?
I've just found some reference to it and remembered that I've tried it at the time, but just couldn't make heads& tails of it. And got a nasty headache from trying to run it in interlaced mode that could give me better vertical resolution.
It came on several floppies. Are there any links or video material about it online somewhere ?
If someone had used it, what was optimal usable HW and SW configuration for it and what could actually be done with it ? \ I suppose this is one example where A1200 should show some edge over A500, on which I tried it... Also, it didn't help that I was trying to run it from a floppy IIRC. But still, had it shown some signs of usability, I'd go for extra HDD...
