Will I be able to play CD32 roms on the A500 mini? If so, exactly how can I do so? Will I need to convert the rom format? Is there a video that shows step-by-step? I’m full of questions.

I have a chance to buy one of these from a friend. It is in perfect condition, and he even has the original box! What is a fair price to offer him?
EDIT: I believe it is a 1mb console.

![]() | While off on Covid I managed to perfect my a1200 image of OS39! I broke the limit, the final frontier! I got Full 486 speed emulation in dos running windows 311, Playable framerates On Machintosh emulator on stock Aga Lisa graphics!, AND!!! To boot. a Amiga 68030 50mhz cpu PLAYING MP3'S MEDIUM STEREO QUALITY WITHOUT STUTTER!! 128BIT, 22050HZ, STEREO MP3! Using a special modified MPEGA.LIBVRARY Re-codded by a cool French dude!! I have to resample some of my newer mp3's though on my pc: down from 320bit etc otherwise i'd have stutter. I use GOLDWAVE CONVERTER FREE. to do a batch conversion. Works like a charm!! here's a demo of it with some pics. Got Mac running playable and PC-TASK Dos 486 speeds running windows 311 too. hehehe. GLORIUS DAY! THE FUTURE WAS THEN! Pulled an image of my amiga sd hdd using "Win3ddiskimage". Happy Dance. (I Use SD's and Hard-drive to sd adapters in all my retro stuff now. Way easier and faster then trying to find an original hard-drive in good shape then you got space limitations to deal with too) You can get the MPEGA.LIBRARY FROM THIS SITE: http://meynaf.free.fr/pr/index_en.html Heres the Download: http://meynaf.free.fr/pr/mpega030.lzx You also need AmigaAMP. Set Fileread to 256k, 1sec. Under MPEG2/3 layers set MEDIUM QUALITY, 1/2 freq, STEREO, 11025hz, and turn off visual sound meter. Then in AHI4.18 or 5 Set sound unit 0 to PAULA FAST 14bit STEREO ++, 2channel, 22050hz. Datz IT!! Enjoy ur tunes on Amiga 68030 50mhz. See vid and pix as proof!! ---VIDEO AT THE BOTTOM!!!--- Check it for urself ;) [link] [comments] |

Hey, I am new to the Amiga Scene, recently got my first Amiga (a A1200). I installed a CF Card with WHDLoad and realised, that I cannot run most games because of missing RAM. Then I browsed the web a bit and also thought about the advantages of a faster CPU to be able to run some good demos (I really like StarStruck by The Black Lotus).
But there are so many options and prices can get crazy. So which card should I buy? From my initial findings the https://amigastore.eu/868-terrible-fire-1230-50-mhz-64128mb-ide.html looks good. But maybe you can just explain the world of expansion cards to me :D

Subject: Is the Raspberry Pi the spiritual descendant of the Amiga?
AFAIK, the Pi is marketed as a tinkers' board, something for people to experiment with. And boy, do people experiment with it. Everything from retrogaming, automation, digital displays, desktop replacement, home security and 1001 other uses. That sort of thing reminds me a lot of the days when people would be using Amigas to edit video, paint, phreak and other things.
Like the Amiga, the Pi has a unique design not seen in mainstream PCs.
Also, the digital magazine that comes with Raspbian OS sure reminds me a lot of CU Amiga / Amiga Format, reading about graphics editing, BBS and other projects people got up to back in the day.
I suppose the fact that David Braben was a co-founder of the Pi has some relevance here too.
I can certainly see some parallels in the communities.
Your thoughts?

Hi!
My A1200 came today (from RetroPassion, great shop) and I was trying to run some games from a USB stick.
The stick is formatted with Fat32 and HXCSDFE.CFG and AUTOBOOT.HFE files are on it.
The problem is that FF always tells me "Media Attach Failed" when I boot from it.
Does anyone have a helpful hint on why that is? Might it be formatted not quite right? Or could the USB stick be incompatible?
Thanks!
p.s.
Internal* sorry

I have a small problem with my 1200, the picture is cut of on the right side, regardless of the settings I use on my CRT (Sony Triniton). I managed to fix this in the workbench with the Overscan setting, unfortunately the games don't seem to have such a feature.
Does anyone know if there is any possible fix to this? or will the only solution be to use a different TV (or a modern monitor)?
Thanks!
