Subject: Best Video Solution

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I'm in the market for a means to connect my Amiga to a more modern display. While I love my old 1080, I'd like to be able to hook up my machines to other displays if the need should arise. That said, I see there's a multitude of options on the market today, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has any suggestions on what they like best, or if there are any solutions to avoid.

Many thanks for any insight!

Subject: How do you shutdown Pimiga?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi there, I installed Pimiga on my Raspberry Pi4. I'm loving it so far.

One thing that I haven't figured out yet is how to shut down the Pi when in Pimiga before pulling it from power. Does anyone know how to do this?

Subject: Newbie needing help.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I'm developing the hobby of collecting and cataloguing abandonware Texture CD Roms.

Recently I've came across two (1, 2) bundle CDs with quite interesting contents. I've been searching for a couple hours about how to use Amiga ROMs, and came across FS-UAE, and Amiga Forever (and ZipZag, but thats another story) and that's about it. I'm stuck in my research.

My questions are: is it possible to extract usable JPEGs from DMS files? Is it possible to extract these CDs into usable Windows' files? Help me out, please.

Subject: Aca1234 or Tf1230?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Looking for opinions. I am looking for an accelerator for a 1200. I am leaning toward the tf1230 as the price is less than half of the aca1234 at 50mhz.

Opinions?

Subject: A500 white screen with a hard drive expansion

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I pulled out my old A500 thats been in storage since probably 1994. I powered it up once and everything worked great. Now whenever the DataFlyer Express external hard drive is connected all i get is a white screen. If I disconnect the DataFlyer Express, everything works as it should. So I’m thinking I have a problem with either the DataFlyer itself or maybe the expansion slot on the motherboard. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Subject: Two projects I hope are being worked on.... wifiplipbox and RGB2HDMI with pico.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

So I was having a ponder the other day and I realised that if the plipbox (or similar) was made but using an ESP8266 or similar, we'd have wireless internet off the parallel port. The other was now there's a DVI (hdmi) sock so you can output video from a pi pico, a version of RGB2HDMI using that would sidestep the need for a full pi (and pico's are all over the place currently). Either of these being worked on?
