Subject: How do you copy disks with red sectors?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello all, following your suggestion about copying real life floppies into winuae adf created files on gotek, i gave it a go with x-copy (an early version i guess from 1989) and all sectors from the disk i wanted to copy were red with 2 on all squares. in the end it said "operation complete" but the empty adf was still empty, it didn't copy anything. did i miss something or there's no way to copy disks with red sectors? keep in mind that such floppy works fine on the amiga with no drive skips or errors

Subject: Pi storm stand-alone

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Ok so if the pi storm can make an ocs amiga display aga and emulate a faster cpu why couldn’t I make a stand alone pi storm amiga? Also what would stop me from using a similar method with my old laptop making it a self contained mobile amiga? I’m not sure what I would do with either of them besides llamatron and dpaint 4 but it would be kinda cool to have my dream amiga, I wish I could of saved my old rig pistorm and or the vampire would of been the ultimate upgrade.

Subject: Amiga Game - Searching for a game

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey, the Amiga game Im searching for was a space ship on the fringe of a warp that moved around the screen and the aim was to shoot the other ships into the warp and have them sucked into it. I was addicted but can't remember the name, someone out there must have played this also.

Subject: VGA Monitor Problem with Indivision MK3 Scandoubler

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Ok, so I got a new Samsung SyncMaster 3 VGA monitor from a friend and it works brilliantly with my beige Mac G3 and XP PC.

However, whenever I plug my Amiga 1200 in with Indivision MK3 VGA scandoubler, I get a messy signal that can't be corrected. Any ideas or solutions from Amiga and retro computing folks?

My Amiga 1200 works perfectly with a larger Compoint VGA monitor... But not this one!

Also, my Amiga 600 with PiStorm running Emu68 and VGA output doesn't work with this monitor, yet it works on my other VGA monitor. Any help? ☹️

Subject: Is the A500 mini a great way to get into Amiga? Can I play SWOS ‘23 on it? Newbie looking to get into Amiga

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello, I recently heard that SWOS was the Tecmo Super Bowl of soccer which of course led me to the Amiga. Both this and the Sharp X6800 are the only retro pcs with gaming content that I found really worth playing so I wanted to know if the A500 mini was a great starting point that I can build with soft modded expansions etc

Tumbling down the rabbit hole.. BBS.

15 minutes on this thing and I'm in ceefax land setting what it was all about. Never had access to a modem at home on Amiga.
