Subject: Question about A2000 back plate question

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I have a iComp OCS/ECS to VGA (v2 board) coming for my A2000. Has anyone seen the flat back plates in the 3D printer world or knows where I might be able to find one with a VGA or Serial port stamped out on it?

I checked Ebay and didn't see anything.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I found this printout for the A2000 back plates;
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4611429

I need to add a VGA port to it, not sure if there is a tool for that with the VGA cut out or if you have to steel it from another design? Not sure how all that works. But I found this other print out that has the VGA cut out that would something I am looking for.

Anyone?

Subject: A500/A2000 Tactile Push Button Switches.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Which size does the A500/A2000 use of these switches?

Is it the 6.3mm x 6.3mm with 1mm high button, or a 12mm x 12mm with 0.5mm high button?

I need to order some, my firing buttons, well one is dead but the circuit works, the other is on its way out.

Thanks,

Subject: Startup Sequences - A2000, A2091, SCSI2SD/etc

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Good morning!

I've managed to get my A2000 and A2091 w/ SCSI2SD 5.1to start to play nice - autoboot does not lock up the computer now (defaults to the ROM screen asking for a disk, so as long as I have a boot floppy available it boots. (tracked it down to a bad A2091 RAM socket, again, as the issue - replaced and cleaned it up, again - tests are happy, again.)

At this point it it seems I need to solve two problems - the first being that HDtools tells me "Driver not installed" when I attempt to see the HD from the A2091 Install disk (or a 3.1 WB install disk). I assume that first problem relates to the second - how do I get the system to (I presume) load scsi.device in one form or another, and I'm assuming it's down to stuff in the startup sequence stuff. How do? Never done this specific part before (it strikes me as being kind of like autoexec.bat on a DOS PC, but.. yeah).

The rom is 40.63 WB 3.1 from Cloanto - do I need to do a SETPATCH in startup sequence to get a newer scsi.device? does this mean i'll always have a boot floppy anyway, and should I update the ROM to the 3.X for a true HD only boot?

Thanks for everyone's continued advice and help. I'm close!

Subject: Audio choppy in pimiga on Pi 400

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I have installed pimiga 1.4 and it all runs fine except the audio is cutting in and out when I play an audio file or play a game, any idea why, I have viewed a video on audio problems and all the settings are fixed as it was a later version that was preconfigured. Any help with this would be great guys.

Subject: Need your help!

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi everyone!

Could you help me to remember the name of an old Amiga 600's game that I used to play when I was a kid? Here the only things that I recall:

- It's a horizontal scrolling beat em up game

- Caricaturized graphic design (it's like Motorhead game for Amiga)

- Enviroment: city and streets right from the 90's with some sort of rap / hip-hop style

- Opening sequence: two guys (enemies) with wide opened eyes, staring at a sexy girl

- It's not a famous game, I think.

Thank you very much, it drives me crazy!

Subject: Most practical way to use Amiga's Paula as an 'effect'?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi! I'm a pop/lofi music producer here. Been making extensive use of Plogue Chipsounds as a really practical way to get sounds out of MOD files, or make samples sound Paula-esque.

Wanting to take the dive and set up a real Amiga as a send effect from my DAW, to impart that special bitreduced (and noisy signal path) aesthetic to any audio.

Can anyone suggest a way to achieve this? Simply want to pull audio into the Amiga and in realtime spit it back out, but having gone through Paula.

Thanks!

Subject: Amigasys 4?!

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I bought this 2nd hand a1200. It boots off a hdd which I didn’t even know was in there. Says it runs on something called amigasys 4...? What’s that? I stopped counting at workbench 3.1 back in the nineties. Looks highly unofficial. It’s in German as well. What do I do now?

Subject: Amiga Supra Ram 500rx ( 2mb)

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I had an amiga 500 for years, but cleaned out the attic and sold it away a few years ago. A friend tossed all his amiga stuff years ago, but recently found and gave me this amiga supra ram attachment which he bought but never used. Should I toss it or does it have any value? The things all metal and built like a tank, but I have no idea if it works.
