It is weird - I have these self competing interests. I want traffic to my blog, so I hate to bring any hits here to the BBS - but I want traffic for the BBS too, so having the blogs publish here gives me another way to get reach and exposure. 

But I'm never going to be a pro writer. I had that shot - and being on the wrong team in politics killed that.

I bet you could get published by the Daily Wire at this point.

I've reached out to various voices in the conservative media arena - and even pleaded my case about how I was somewhat successful with CBSi until I was blacklisted for political affiliation, along with evidence. 

Haven't heard a peep from any of them. They don't seem to want to engage me - and in fact, I've caught several of them using phrases, taglines, and even whole ideas that I've written about online, without credit. 

Journalists are egomaniacal and insecure, easily triggered and defensive. It is a real cut-throat industry full of self promotion and fear of someone else taking your mojo. This was my problem with Jason Heiner, evidently. He had tried to create his personal brand as "snarky tech journalist at Tech Republic," and I came in and well - just did it naturally. People on the inside told me he was threatened and jealous of me - and he made me jump through a lot of hoops and was super critical and arrogant - like, if I made a typo and didn't catch it multiple times on a basic word... "buisness" instead of "business" for example - he would just ruthlessly jump all over me for it. 

I know how to spell - but... sometimes I *forget* a word for a while. I think I've got dyslexia, or something like it... where... I just... similar and familiar - they're ones I constantly have to look up. I can't get the word "definitely" into my head. I always need spell check. Jason was always a complete, "you're not a REAL writer," kind of dick about these things. 


And... every OTHER writer except Soni Thompson that I've ever met - I get the same vibe from them almost immediately. Getting published, getting recognized for being published, goes to your head. 


Beyond that - I think Daily Wire is only interested in people who are already generating massive, commercially viable traffic. If I had a huge podcast that was aligned with them that was generating tens of thousands of hits daily, possible even just mid-thousands... or had a YouTube Vidcast or a Podcast generating this kind of traffic - they would be right on board with signing me up. I'm just a hack to them.
